Hey all, welcome to my Ecom Beast 2.0 review.
It’s another dropshipping course that’s on my list to review, a course that had claimed to be helping students to make their first five figure sales in 30 days.
That’s a big promise.
And I’m here writing this review whether this course can actually live up to its promise.
I’m by no means associated with Ecom beast in any way, this will be purely from my 3rd party perspective. I’m not going to profit if you were to still choose to go with Ecom Beast.
Therefore, I’m here to share my unbiased and honest opinion of the course – whether or not it’s worth the price tag.
So without further ado, is Ecom Beast a scam? Here’s the truth..
|Ecom Beast 2.0 Summary|
Product: Dropshipping course
Founder: Harry Coleman
Recommended: Sure, but..
Summary: Harry Coleman is a prominent figure on YouTube with his eCommerce-related content. After having success with his dropshipping stores, he then went on to share or rather sell the steps that he had taken to make 7 figure sales into this course.
Priced at $547, he does offer a lot of training – but does that mean this is the best dropshipping course out there for you?
Well, let’s figure it out together..
What Is Dropshipping?
Dropshipping is when you promote and sell a third party product without handling the product creation, inventory and shipping.
When an order comes into your store, instead of wrapping and shipping out the products, the wholesaler or supplier will be the one that does the fulfilment.
Therefore, you only really need to focus on the front end and making sure sales are coming in for you to get your “cut”.
The cut is the difference on the retail price minus the wholesale price. If you’d prefer to learn this more through a video and animation, you can watch the video below:
Now let’s see how the Ecom Beast 2.0 course can help you strategize and build your dropshipping business.
What Is Ecom Beast 2.0?
As mentioned before Ecom Beast is a dropshipping course created by Harry Coleman – one of the YouTubers sharing tips and tricks to succeed in eCommerce.
Harry mentioned that his first dropshipping store was actually a failure but he didn’t give up and continue on creating multiple other stores – which had been very successful.
Unlike other dropshipping creators (Anton from Dropship Lifestyle), Harry is still actively managing his dropshipping stores and still making eCommerce sales. Many other course creators have actually retired from creating stores and just focusing on selling courses.
So it’s good to know that it’s not just a one-time success from Harry Coleman. He still can give you real-time tips and tricks for your dropshipping business.
He did claim that you’ll be able to generate your first 200 first sales with the training… but he no longer mentions the time period to achieve that sale number.
What Makes Ecom Beast 2.0 Unique?
In terms of the content on his course, I couldn’t find anything that really stands out…
He did mention a few things that made his program different than other courses:-
Many of the dropshipping courses out there being created because of the system or strategies that the creators have found. Similar to Harry, many are based on a proven system.
Many dropshipping courses offer lifetime updates such as Product Winner Blueprint. So it isn’t exactly exclusive to Ecom Beast course.
It’s the same argument as the proven system.
When you buy a dropshipping course, you’re basically buying the creators’ strategies and “secrets”.
This is probably something new.
If you find this to be something really important for you store, then this can be very helpful. While other course such as Project Verum teaches you how to proper copywriting, Ecom Beast will give you a template.
So far I haven’t found any dropshipping courses that don’t offer a private Facebook group for them to be a part of.
That being said, having a live Q&A every other week can be very helpful.
Nice for him to offer this. But it’s not exactly straight forward. I’ll explain more below so read till the end. This might be a deal breaker to some of you..
How Much Does Ecom Beast 2.0 Cost?
Ecom Beast 2.0 at the time of writing costs $547 – which claimed to be a “today-only” price from $997. But the promo has been there for quite some time now.
It’s just like the other marketing gimmick to create urgency.
And with this price, you’ll get an upgraded content, with a bonus training for Google Ads.
What’s In Ecom Beast 2.0?
Module 1: Mindset & Fundamentals
I like online courses with mindset training. A lot of us nowadays think that we’ll be able to see success in the first week of launching an online business and make us millionaires – when in reality it couldn’t be further than the truth.
Therefore, if you’re thinking of joining the course, don’t skip the first module. It’s very important to start off with that mindset training first.
Module 2: Building A High Converting Website
This is where he teaches you how to set up your website from scratch with Shopify Hosting.
You will also learn how to get your domain set up, customize the theme of your website as well as uploading products to your store and pricing them.
He shares the apps that you should get for your Shopify stores – usually this is for automation, email marketing and other apps that can help you get your ROAS higher.
Module 3: Product Research Academy
I do think this module should come before module 2.
Because at times you would want to find good products to sell first before deciding on a niche or concept of the store. In a way, it’s sort of verifying your store before deciding all the necessary branding.
Anyway, you will learn how to find products from AliExpress as well as local suppliers and understand what kind of products to avoid selling on your store.
Module 4: Taking Your Store to The Next Level
This is where you will learn how to increase your AOV (average order value) so that you’ll get better and higher ROAS (return of advertising spends) via upsell, cross-sell as well as bundles.
Module 5: Ecom Beast Facebook Ads Academy
– Fundamentals: Learn the basics of setting up a Facebook Page, Facebook Business Manager, and Ad Account.
– Targeting: Every dropshipping course creators happen to have different takes on finding an audience to target. Here is how Harry finds the audience for him to target on Facebook Ads using Facebook Audience Insights & Google Trends
– Testing: Harry has his own strategy when it comes to testing products and launching Facebook Ads. He does still use the PPE system (which I’m not a fan of).
– Scaling: Once you find the winning product, you’d want to scale your campaign so that it’ll double your sales. This is where you can find on how to do so. It’s not simply doubling your budget, ok. He does have multiple strategies on this and I believe you will have to test-and-learn for your own store still.
– Retargeting: Don’t waste the low hanging fruits. This is where you’ll learn how to close those audience via Catalogue Sales.
Module 6: Email Marketing For Added Profits
I really like the fact that many dropshipping courses nowadays include email marketing module. The few courses I’ve taken on dropshipping barely touched email marketing.
Email marketing can be truly amazing and give very high conversion rate, so don’t miss out on this. You probably want to set this up first before even launching your Facebook Ads.
Module 7: Business Operations & Growth
Once your store is taking off, you might want to consider outsourcing many of the processes and Harry will teach you on this module here.
If you’re non-US resident, you might find this part really useful as he goes through the payment system for anyone living outside of USA.
Bonus Module: Google Ads Academy
– Set Up: It’s honestly pretty straight forward to open up a Google Ads account and Harry will take you through it step-by-step
– Search Campaigns: It’s a pretty basic set up for search campaigns. You will definitely need to know more in order to really get a good ROAS in SEM. Also, worth mentioning here that it really depends on your niche whether or not this will kill your budget because SEM can be very expensive.
– Shopping Campaigns: Again, this is a pretty basic run down on how to set up Shopping Campaigns, not much on the strategy to really excel and get the best ROAS.
I’m Google Ads certified (I work as a digital marketer for the longest time) and I first started learning Google Ads from very cheap Udemy courses. And they actually go very in depth to how to set up Google Ads correctly.
I’m not saying that this Google Ads Academy bonus is worthless – I’m sure you’ll learn something new but it’s by no means complete. It’s just an overview and there are other cheaper alternatives for you to learn Google Ads from.
Is Ecom Beast 2.0 A Scam?
No, Ecom Beast 2.0 dropshipping course is not a scam.
They are a pretty legit course that will teach you on how you can start a dropshipping business as a beginner. Like many other dropshipping course, the difference between buying this course is usually based on the creators themselves.
Meaning that, if you would like to learn from Harry’s strategies, then this will be the course for you to get but if you like Anton’s teaching, you will probably want to get Anton’s course.
I do believe that Harry knows what he’s doing and what he’s teaching especially knowing that he still runs his Shopify stores. Therefore he will always have valuable and real time advice and content to share with you.
What I Like About Ecom Beast 2.0
1) All Templates Included
Unlike PWB where you’ll need to get the order bump just to get the templates, you will get all the templates and scripts that Harry used to secure suppliers, etc on the course.
2) Bi-Weekly Q&A Session
I always appreciate Q&A session on any paid subscription that I have.
I’m in one of the most active private Pinterest membership groups out there and the founder will usually answer questions using screencasted (Loom) videos showing exactly how you can solve your problems! How awesome is that?
And you’ll definitely feel more premium when insider tricks are being shared with you first instead of other free users.
What I DON’T Like About Ecom Beast 2.0
1) Refund Policy
Many of these dropshipping courses give very unsatisfactory refund policies…
Ecom Beast 2.0 is one of them.
They did mention that they will give money back if you’re unhappy with the course within 30 days of purchasing. But there’s a T&C. Let’s check out the T&C.
“Action” Based – let’s see what it means:-
1) Watched 85% of the available videos
2) Created a fully functioning live store with at least 5 products, following the course
3) Installed the essential apps “suggested” in the course
4) Had tagged Harry in the course group to ask for help if they’ve had any problems
5) Proved that a minimum of $50 has been spent on Facebook Ads, following the course or driven at least 100 visitors to the store
6) Must make an “honest” attempt, with consistent effort
7) Consistent effort definition: Able to show work done daily on a consistent basis. Have to prove the timestamps of the actions
8) Will only be considered when provided with all the information and submitted by email at email@example.com
That’s a lot of things you need to do in order to get a refund.
He mentioned that you need to watch 85% of the available videos which is at least 15 hours worth of length. If you think you can really give this course a try within 30 days of buying and really do what it says, then go ahead and give the course a try – you can still request a refund.
This course is for beginners. Beginners will need more time to absorb how to go about this. What more if they have a day job to keep.
You can work on it for 3-5 hours per week but you’ll kiss the money-back guarantee goodbye.
I personally don’t get it. If it’s this hard for people to request a refund, it’s obvious that they don’t want to give the refund – then don’t offer any refund policy in the first place. It’s just so much easier.
Is Dropshipping Still Worth It?
1) Only When You Have Capital
Dropshipping is really NOT for someone who are strapped with money. There are so many other expenses that you will need to pay such as:
– Shopify hosting
– Domain name
– Transaction Fee
– Facebook Ads
– Instagram Influencer
– Additional paid apps on Shopify
So unless you have at least $2,500 to spare to start this business model, dropshipping unfortunately is not for you. You’ll be spending at least $2,000 to get started – and that won’t even guarantee any sales coming in.
2) Not The Best Business Model
As I’ve mentioned in 2021, dropshipping isn’t exactly the best business model out there. A lot of people already know the trick of “free product + shipping” and asking them to wait for 2-3 weeks for product delivery is a deal-breaker.
Put yourself in the customer shoe, will you go and buy a product from a store that will take 2-3 weeks to ship the products to you or you’d rather go to Amazon.com and get your products delivered the next day?
I’d go with Amazon.com. And that brings me to the next point.
Alternative To Make Money
After I left dropshipping, I found a better way to make money online with Amazon.com that is a lot more passive and won’t need me to fork out so much capital when first starting out.
I really wish I’d found this sooner.
I switched from doing a dropshipping business to affiliate marketing.
– it was free for me to get started
– I don’t need to be running ads all the time
– my traffic is organic, therefore a lot more sustainable
– I don’t need to handle refunds or customer service
– it’s much easier for me to do with a 9-5 job
If you want to know how I was able to get started with affiliate marketing for free as a newbie, you can check out my short video here where I’ll take you through everything I did.
But if you want to do it too and get free training, here’s my FREE 7-day training where I’ll take you step by step on what to do each day.
