Hey all, welcome to my Dropship Lifetsyle course review.
I’ve been meaning to do more reviews on dropshipping courses because I had been doing dropshipping before and there were a few things that I wish had been included in the courses that I’d bought.
So I want to see whether or not those things are being covered in this highly reviewed and rated course on the internet when it comes to dropshipping.
Anton Kraly, the founder claimed that the Dropship Lifestyle course has been voted as the Best eCommerce Course by Shopify.
If you want to find out how good it is or whether or not it’s lived up to the award, let’s find out together here.
Is Dropship Lifestyle legit? Here’s the truth..
|Dropship Lifestyle Summary|
Product: Dropshipping course
Founder: Anton Kraly
Price: $2,997 for Premium, $4,997 for Premium+ and $8,997 for Ultimate package
Summary: Dropship Lifestyle is one of the highly acclaimed dropshipping courses out there. Anton Kraly has been a well-known go-to person when it comes to dropshipping through his blog as well as YouTube videos.
In 2013, he created the Dropship Lifestyle course and taught thousands of students on how to create a successful dropshipping business which he claimed to be very different and unique compared to other dropshipping courses.
That being said, how unique is it really? And is it worth the price? Let’s find out..
What Is Dropshipping?
Dropshipping is when you help to promote and sell a third party product without handling the product creation, inventory and shipping.
When an order comes into your store, instead of wrapping and shipping out the products, the wholesaler will be the one that does the fulfilment.
Therefore, you only really need to focus on the front end and making sure sales are coming in order for you to get your “cut”.
The cut is the difference on the retail price minus the wholesale price. If you’d prefer to learn this more through a video and animation, you can watch the video below:
Now let’s see how the Dropship Lifestyle can help you strategize and build your dropshipping business.
What Is Dropship Lifestyle?
Dropship Lifestyle came about in 2013 by Anton Kraly. Anton Kraly has been a rather prominent figure when it comes to dropshipping from his YouTube videos.
At least that was where I first “met” him..
His success has been featured in Forbes and you can have an opinion that he’s legit this way. But it’s known that some public figures paid to be featured in Forbes before so I won’t think too much of the feature.
That being said, Anton has had his fair share of success in dropshipping. His store made more than $3millions after 3 years. And I’m sure whatever that he’s done to get to that point are being shared on his course.
What Makes Dropship Lifestyle Unique?
1) One of the obvious differences between the Dropship Lifestyle course with other dropshipping courses is that they are teaching you how to source suppliers locally.
Meaning that you won’t be touching or going through AliExpress to source out products from China. Which to me is pretty appealing as products from AliExpress (from my experience) tend to have higher return/refund rates.
Therefore, instead of sharing with you a template on how to approach a supplier from China, he teaches you to cold call and cold email suppliers in your country and basically how to build a relationship with them.
2) Another big difference is that instead of selling “hot” and “trendy” products, you will be selling something more evergreen – even better when they are high priced.
I personally sold something quite evergreen before and it did really well but with low price tag. So I needed more volume in order to see profits.
3) One of the unique features or support that they gave was the ability for you to get your niche verified. Meaning that you’ll get their opinion on the niche that you’ve picked.
To be honest, if you’re just starting out, you might not know which niche will have a better opportunity to sell more. I made this mistake when I was first starting out dropshipping – so for you to be able to get an opinion from someone who’s been in the business for a long time, it’s quite a bonus.
That being said, how much do these unique features or support will cost you?
How Much Does Dropship Lifestyle Cost?
That’s a steep price, if you ask me.
For the cheapest package, Premium at $2,997, you will still get the basics to launch your own dropshipping business, but you won’t be getting the Done-For-You website as well as the mentorship.
For the most expensive package, Ultimate at $8,997, you will also be getting a retreat ticket. In 2019, they went to Prague but I’m not so sure in 2021 and beyond…because of well, covid.
In essence, you’re not only buying into the course but also on their lifestyle and community.
Before we put our finger down on whether or not the course is worth it, let’s check out what you’ll get within the course first.
What’s In Dropship Lifestyle?
Module 0: Overview
I actually really like the fact that they have built the first module to be on the foundation and mindset.
I think when it comes to building a business online, we all seem to want things instantly when the majority of the time, it just doesn’t work like that.
Therefore, I do think that it’s crucial for people to understand this bit before going through the rest of the course.
Module 1: Niche Selection
Just like any other way to make money online or creating a business online, or even offline, you need to pick a niche. It’s usually where a lot of us get stuck because we tend to overthink.
And it’s good to overthink (sometimes) because not all niches are made the same, especially with dropshipping. So you do want to take your time but not too much time, you get what I’m saying..?
But in the module, you will learn over-the-shoulder on how to pick a niche and what niches will work best for your stores.
If you go to the website, you can also get the free training on Anton’s 237 profitable product ideas – that might give you some ideas well.
That being said, this niche-picking module will always be with any dropshipping courses you choose. I’ve enrolled in many and all of them will teach you how to go about this process.
Module 2: Market Research
Now that you know what niche you want to be focusing on, it’s time for you to do more research into it.
Like what kind of products can you sell with your niche, looking at other competitors stores and basically a process for you to “verify” your niche.
Making sure that the products are sellable and your niche is actually in demand.
Module 3: Create Your Website
You will be taught how to create your website on Shopify (only on Shopify by the way) from getting your domain, choosing a theme to uploading your products.
It can get tedious if you’re new to Shopify but it will get easier once you spend more time on the platform.
If you don’t like to create your own website or you’re just not that confident with your website design skill, you can also get their Done-For-You Website at $2,500 (if I’m not mistaken) or you can just upgrade to Premium + package.
I usually skip done-for-you packages but if it’s something that you would want, well, you have an option here.
Module 4: Get Drop Shippers
I think this module is supposed to be after picking out a niche but anyway, here you will find on how to get suppliers for the products you will be selling.
In other dropshipping courses, they usually will teach you on how to find profitable or hot products on AliExpress – this is definitely how I’ve done before.
But with Dropship Lifestyle, you will be sourcing your suppliers locally. Meaning that you will have more credible products (some customers will make some noise when they knew the products are from China by the way).
And here, you will get a script or a template on how to cold call or cold email suppliers.
Module 5: Optimize For Conversions
This section is basically all the different ways you can do to make sure your store as well as your social media accounts are optimized for conversions.
There are some tweaks that you can do, that might seem very small that can actually help boost conversion. And this is where you will learn on those small tweaks that you can do.
Also, this is something you will need to do before switching on any paid traffic so that whatever traffic that comes in will have a smooth flow to becoming a customer.
Module 6: Get Traffic
So this is where you will learn how to set up ads from Google ads to Facebook ads.
They are beginner friendly, so they are good for beginners out there. If you’re already pretty comfortable with building ads, you might find this section a bit boring.
One point that was pointed out from a user was that this isn’t really based on a case study. Meaning that they are theory-heavy based – which can be useful but not exactly giving you the exact strategy they have used before.
I usually like to learn from a real proven case study when it comes to doing paid traffic. One of the courses I’ve taken on this is the Belt Method – it’s actually really good, it’s based on their case study, they showed their backend with the numbers and the method works for me.
This part of doing paid traffic will usually come in with any dropshipping course you take. I’ve taken a few and all of them include this part.
Module 7: Automation
It is very important for you to automate many parts of your business with dropshipping.
If not, it really doesn’t live up to the “passive income” part of it. You will learn how to automate the fulfilment – there are many Shopify apps that can really help you out on this.
And there’s also the part where you automate your emails for any abandoned cart and order tracking.
They will also teach you when, how and why to outsource. Honestly, if you don’t outsource and automate your processes, this will be your new 9-5. I’m not kidding. I will explain in more detail below.
Is Dropship Lifestyle A Scam?
There are a lot of scammy courses out there but Dropship Lifestyle is not one of them.
You can still get and learn valuable info from Anton on the blog itself or through his YouTube videos. He does share a lot of gems and I’m sure even without joining his course, you’ll be able to learn a thing or two.
That said, there are a few things that I like and dislike about the course. You can take this as a pro and cons sheet when deciding to join them.
What I Like About Dropship Lifestyle?
1) Promote Evergreen Products
I do like the fact that they encourage you to promote evergreen products instead of another hot and trendy products. Because you’re building a business, you do want to have something that will last for a long time and not only for a couple of months.
This will save you a lot of time as well from having to constantly research the new “hot” and “trendy” products and testing them on your ads.
2) Local Suppliers
When I first started last time, I only source my suppliers from China via AliExpress. And now when I took a step back, I realized that there are a lot of smaller local businesses that you can partner up with to become their dropshipper.
I don’t think it’s going to be as easy, but if there’s a guide on how to do this, you can certainly give it a try.
Those 2 points are something that makes the course unique. But you also need to take into account below points before committing to buy the course.
What I DON’T Like About Dropship Lifestyle
It’s the most expensive dropshipping course I have actually ever seen. Even though they do update the course from time to time when necessary, I don’t think the one-time payment is truly worth it.
The reason being, when you’re first starting out, there are a lot of other costs that you will need to take into account such as paying for ads, hosting your store, and buying your domain. And these are the minimum.
And as a beginner, you’ll definitely need more than 3 months coaching and with $2,997 price tag, you should at least get a full year coaching.
Also, there are other good courses out there on dropshipping that still teach you good stuff without having this high of a price tag – by the way.
2) Refund Policy
If you take the course and feel like it doesn’t hit your expectation, well the good news is that you can ask for a refund.
Bad news? You will need to show them that you’ve done the work first then only request a refund within the first 30 days.
If you didn’t manage to do the work and show them that it’s not working the first 30 days, then you aren’t able to ask for a refund.
It’s definitely something I’m not comfortable with. Because at times, as a user, you do want to have a look at what’s being offered first before making a commitment. Especially that big of a commitment.
And you should be able to get a refund if, within 30 days, you didn’t feel like you’re learning anything much or simply because it doesn’t hit your expectation.
After burning a lot of money for courses that didn’t work that taught me a lot of black hat tricks, every time I buy a course, I’ll just make sure that there’s a possibility for me to ask for a refund.
And there are a few courses that I’ve requested for a refund, simply because they didn’t match the hype – and they are those courses made by genuine people who will give you the opportunity for you to request for a refund no question asked.
Even though I didn’t like the courses, I can’t say the same to the founders – they created a course and stand tall by it. And if people don’t like it, they are more than willing to give back your money.
This is simply my take on this.
Because not everyone will have the power to instantly make time to do everything taught in a course within 30 days. And with this Dropship Lifestyle course, once you have to go through those steps, you will already be paying for many other things.
3) No SEO Training
This is not new with dropshipping courses.
Many of them don’t teach SEO because SEO takes time and with dropshipping, you’ll need to make as much money as you can as soon as possible.
So they are more likely to emphasize on paid traffic instead of the good ol’ organic traffic.
This is one reason I left dropshipping.
Is Dropship Lifestyle Worth It?
1) High Capital Cost
I personally don’t think it’s worth it. I still think the course is lacking a few things like SEO if they want to charge that high of a price.
And that’s only the cost of purchasing Dropship Lifestyle.
Let’s talk about the other costs you might incur:-
– Hosting with Shopify (monthly cost)
– Buying your domain (annual cost)
– Transaction fee (for every purchase, depending on your subscription with Shopify)
– Paying for ads!! (this will take so much of your money, so prepare some cash)
– Automation apps (there are free versions but it’s very tempting to upgrade)
2) Dropshipping Is Saturated
I first started in 2016 and it was still okay… I would say.
Not that many people know about the “free product + shipping” tactic yet though I did get some hate comments saying those products were low quality Chinese made – to be fair, they weren’t wrong.
But in 2021, it’s pretty tough.
To run paid traffic campaigns, they are much more expensive now because there are a lot more advertisers coming in.
And same goes to people doing dropshipping.
I’m not saying there will be no chance to do it, but you have to really stand out and able to fork out a lot of capital when starting out.
E-commerce is only going to be growing, but it doesn’t mean dropshipping is the only way to go.
Alternative To Make Money
After I left dropshipping, I found a better way to make money online that is a lot more passive and won’t need me to fork out so much capital when first starting out.
I really wish I’d found this sooner.
I switched from doing a dropshipping business to affiliate marketing.
– it was free for me to get started
– I don’t need to be running ads all the time
– my traffic is organic, therefore a lot more sustainable
– I don’t need to handle refunds or customer service
– it’s much easier for me to do with a 9-5 job
If you want to know how I was able to get started with affiliate marketing for free as a newbie, you can check out my short video here where I’ll take you through everything I did.
But if you want to do it too and get free training, here’s my FREE 7-day training where I’ll take you step by step on what to do each day.
