Is Affiliate Takeoff A Scam? Unbiased Review by a NON-Affiliate

Hey all, welcome to my Affiliate Takeoff review, a course done by Cynthia Benitez and John Newman.

This is a rather new affiliate marketing training that has just been launched by Cynthia, showing off the fact that her 69-year-old mother got to earn affiliate marketing commission within the first 24 hours.

There are other screenshots of affiliate commissions on the sales page, but there’s no real proof that those are coming from the training.

Usually, they will take a screenshot of the whole earnings page with their username visible, but if there are only boxes of commissions shown, my advice is to take it with a grain of salt.

The training claims to be extremely newbie friendly, even if one doesn’t have any technical or internet marketing background, as Cynthia’s mother had been able to launch her own campaign.

While I don’t think the training is too complicated for a newbie, it’s not necessarily the route I would recommend newbies to take when they first start to learn about affiliate marketing, as this involves running paid ads.

I will share with you my thoughts on the product below in this review as well as letting you know some disadvantages that come with it.

Before I get to the review, just a quick disclaimer that I’m NOT an affiliate to Affiliate Takeoff or any of its product owners. Hence this will be my unbiased third-party review.

I’m not going to profit from doing this review should you decide to get the product. So, this will be a little bit different from the glowing reviews you have seen of this product out there.

Now, without further ado, let’s get started!

What Is Affiliate Takeoff?

Is Affiliate Takeoff A Scam

Product Name: Affiliate Takeoff
Price: $13 + Upsells
Owner: Cynthia Benitez and John Newman
Recommended? No

Affilite Takeoff is an affiliate marketing training produced by Cynthia Benitez and John Newman. The training is mostly surrounding the success story of Cynthia’s mother who’s able to rake in some commissions within the first 24 hours of setting up her campaign.

Therefore, this training is mainly targeted to newbie or affiliate marketing beginners.

Looking at the training that’s inside the course, they are pretty straightforward and I’m sure beginners can also understand how the method works easily.

However, I don’t necessarily think that it would be the best method for beginners to start with. I’ll discuss this more in the later section.

But for now, let’s take a look at how Affiliate Takeoff really works.

How Affiliate Takeoff Really Works

The training in Affiliate Takeoff isn’t really a new method that’s unknown to other affiliate marketers. It’s a method not only affiliate marketers are doing but other business owners too.

In the training, you will be getting to see 2 videos of the case study made with the system so you’ll have better expectation on how it’s going to be like.

This case study is good to be included in the training, though I would like to see a longer time period case study and perhaps longer videos (the videos are only about 2 minutes each)

The case study is only for 24 hours and 72 hours after launching the campaign. It would be nice to see how the business is doing after at least a month or two.

Anyway, the method taught in the training is going to mainly utilizing YouTube ads.

With YouTube ads, you will drive traffic to your opt-in page or squeeze page where you will usually offer a freebie to the user and then once they have filled out their details, they will be taken to the product that you promote to get a commission.

You can also direct traffic straight to the product page but if the product is not Google friendly, your account will be more likely to be banned.

Is Affiliate Takeoff A Scam

In a nutshell, here’s what you’re going to learn:

1) Create your Google Ads account
2) Choose products to promote – mainly from Clickbank
3) Create your landing page
4) Create your video ad
5) Set up email autoresponder
6) Launch your YouTube Ads campaign

The steps are not complicated but you will still need to spend some time setting up the system first before launching your YouTube campaign.

If you’re a beginner, you might need more time to configure each platform being introduced in the training.

There is training for each step but it’s not a whole lot. You might be needing to research yourself on how for example to get used to Clickfunnels and GetResponse platforms.

Now, I’m all good with the method but I do have some reservations when it comes to the training, that are supposed to be newbie-friendly.

Let’s see below.

Here are some disadvantages of Monthly Income System:

1) Promoting Clickbank products.

In the training, when it comes to searching for products to promote, the training is mainly teaching how to find profitable products on Clickbank.

If you’re new to affiliate marketing, well let me tell you that many Clickbank products are not very high-quality, pretty old and they actually have pretty high refund and chargebacks rate.

There are of course some pros with Clickbank but you have to dig deep to find a worthy product to promote in my opinion.

That said, you can still promote other products that you feel more comfortable with instead of Clickbank using the same method taught in the training.

2) Testimonials are not from beginners.

Since this training is meant to be for beginners, other than the case study made by Cynthia’s mother, there’s no testimonials given by any other beginners who claim to be the beta testers.

There are 3 testimonials on the salespage that you can see but all three of them aren’t really sharing their own success using Cynthia’s method, only praising how good the training is.

I would be more confident to really vouch for this training should there be more testimonials coming from a true newbie.

3) Cost of running ads.

On the sales page, you could see how much Cynthia’s mother made using the system – about $50 each day.

But that doesn’t include the cost of the ads. You can however see this on the case study videos that she showed in the training.

Given that, you should be aware that you’ll be spending money before getting any guaranteed money back. And for newbies to start their affiliate marketing journey with paid ads is very risky.

This is because that you will need to master how to run profitable ads first and get the right product to the right user before getting the unlimited commission.

You need to remember that paid ads are not guaranteeing any commission and you will constantly need to run some campaigns to get more leads and money.

This to me, isn’t very sustainable in the long term.

4) Extra costs.

I think this should be told on the sales page whereby users will more likely need to spend extra money to implement the training.

There are 2 main platforms that you will probably need to use that will incur monthly payment – Clickfunnels and GetResponse (an email marketing service).

Clickfunnels starts at $99 a month while GetResponse at $15 a month.

Hence, even if the training is pretty affordable, do note that there are more cost and budget that you need to take into account before getting any commission.

Is Affiliate Takeoff A Scam or Legit?

No, Affiliate Takeoff isn’t a scam. The training can in fact make you money to a certain extent.

That said, I am not a fan of recommending paid ads for beginners especially when there’s not enough training on the ads setup and management itself.

And, other than the extra costs that you will incur as you implement the training, you will also be presented to multiple of upsells.

From paying $13 for the training, you might be finding yourself paying $551.

Do note that if you do take the upsells and you want a refund, you will only be getting the front-end refund which is $13. Yup.

Hence, from all the disadvantages that I’ve listed above, I don’t recommend newbies or anyone to get Affiliate Takeoff.

Instead of taking out your hard-earned money getting the product and spending more on ads, you can actually spend that money for a better affiliate marketing training that’s much more suitable for beginners.
