Hey all, welcome to my IM Checklist KDP & POD review.
This is a checklist or a course training created by Kevin Fahey and his partner, Declan Doyle. Kevin Fahey has been routinely producing checklists for all sorts of businesses that people can get PLR (private label rights) to in various niches.
Most of the checklists created by Kevin have been promoted as newbie-friendly and an easy guideline for beginners to start making money online.
But has it been the truth?
Can zero knowledge beginners start making money using Kevin’s checklist?
Well, in this review, I want to share what I had found and whether or not this checklist in particular (KDP & POD) is worth any of your time.
As you know, KPD stands for Kindle Publishing whereas POD stands for Print-on-Demand. These are the two business models that people can go into to make some money online.
Now before I start my review, a quick disclaimer that I’m NOT an affiliate of Kevin Fahey or any of his products. I’m not going to profit in any way should you decide to get his course anyway.
Therefore, this is just my candid third-party review of what I think about his product, coming from someone who has tried multiple different ways to make money online.
So, without further ado, let’s get started!

What Is IM Checklist KDP & POD?
Product Name: IM Checklist KDP & POD
Price: $17 + Upsells
Owner: Kevin Fahey and Declan Doyle
IM Checklist KDP & POD is basically a set of training made in a checklist form to guide people on how to start their own Kindle Publishing and Print-on-Demand business.
Apart from that, they also get the private label rights to use the checklist as a bonus to their own product, as a blog, or use it as a lead magnet to get more email subscribers.
I guess there are 2 types of buyers for this checklist – someone who really wants to start KDP or POD business, or someone who’s just looking to use the content of the product as their own.
For today’s review, I’m going to focus on whether this checklist is worth it for someone to get if they were thinking of starting a KDP or POD business. But at the end, that also affects whether this product is worth it for you to share around as your own.
Anyway, let’s take a look at how the KDP and POD checklist works first.
How IM Checklist KDP & POD Really Works
As this product is called a checklist, you will get the training in the form of that but they will also be accompanied by some training on how to go about in each step.
Even though there is training for each step, please note that there’s so much that the course creator (Kevin) can provide with such a low front-end price ($17).
Hence, don’t expect that the training will be extremely and fully in-depth. Not that the training won’t help but you will definitely need to do a lot of your own research work as well.
For each KPD and POD, they have their own separate checklist. Let’s start with KPD first.
Here’s what you’re going to learn with KPD:
1) Setting up an author account on Amazon.
2) Writing and editing your manuscript per Amazon’s T&C.
3) Creating your book title and subtitle that catch people’s attention.
4) Selecting keywords and categories for your book for you to get discovered.
5) Writing your book description for Amazon that hooks people.
6) Creating a captivating interior layout and design for your book.
7) Proofreading and uploading your book.
8) Marketing your book.
9) Launching your book to get more conversions.
The steps are rather straightforward but I guess it would be beneficial to newbies who are just starting out.
If you already have an idea of what book to produce, I’m sure this can be your guideline on how to start promoting on Amazon. That said, as I mentioned before you do need to do extra research on how to properly win at Amazon’s algorithm.
Plus, keep in mind that you’ll be competing with a sea of people publishing eBooks on Amazon too, as this way of making money had been quite popular as of late. And since everyone is doing it on Amazon platform, the competition is even higher.
Let’s take a look at what you’re going to get with POD:
1) Choosing your e-commerce platform to set up your store.
2) Selecting your niche and products to sell.
3) Branding your store.
4) Setting up your e-commerce store.
5) Selecting your POD provider and adding the products onto your store.
6) Checklist for copyright and trademarks for your product design.
7) Promoting your store to get sales.
8) Creating mockups and pricing your products to get people’s attention.
With the POD business, you’ll also be getting additional resources such as rebrandable eBook, email swipes, spreadsheet and a couple more.
The extra resources can help you in your POD business though some of them won’t exactly make sense if you were to just focus on launching your POD business, instead of teaching others how to run a POD business.
Please keep in mind that with POD business, it’s very popular for business owners to spend on paid advertising as this will target very relevant audience.
Therefore, you might need to budget a lot more before starting your POD business as this will eat up your capital rather quickly.
Though I’m sure that these 2 checklists can be beneficial to newbies who are just starting out, I still have some reservations when it comes to this checklist training.
Here are some disadvantages of IM Checklist KDP & POD:
1) Bad customer support.
Good customer support is really the backbone of any successful business. If you are promoting products that are catered to newbies, the customer support should be more than great to be able to help these beginners get their footings straight.
I came across a review on Kevin Fahey’s previous products where the person has never gotten any answer back from Kevin’s team regarding his question.
It might not be the case for everyone, but would you take the chance of getting the products and will never heard back from the course creators about your question?
2) Is it really for beginners?
One of the things that cringe me when these products claim to be perfect for beginners is that some of them are actually not made for people who actually have zero knowledge base.
If a product is meant for beginners, usually the training has to be more extensive and broken down bit by bit with the assumptions that the person has never even got their hands dirty in making money online.
Plus, I don’t think going for Kindle Publishing and Print-on-Demand business is the way to go for beginners to start making money in this online space.
Simply because, with those 2 business models, beginners need to prove that their products have demand or in a way that they have to create those demands.
If I were to recommend a way for beginners to make money, it’s to ride the wave of what’s already in demand. So that they won’t need to continue testing of what’s working and what’s not.
Trust me, I’m talking from experience.
There is a far better way for beginners to start making money online instead of going for KDP and POD, which I’m going to share more about that below.
But for now, let’s answer the question of the day.
Is IM Checklist KDP & POD A Scam or Legit?
No, IM Checklist KDP & POD is not a scam.
There are some valuable information that you can get from the checklist training. It’s a legitimate training that can teach you how to set up your own KDP and POD business when you’re just starting out.
Though you will very likely to need to do your very own research even after going through the training.
The checklist has a rather cheap front-end pricing at $17.
But with any low front-end price products, there will be multiple of upsells that will be presented to you for them to make more money.
So instead of paying $17, you might end up paying $414.
And if you were to get the IM Checklist Gold, it starts at $17.95 per month.
Now paying $414 won’t make you go extra broke but I do think that it’s far better to put that money into a better make money online training that’s even more suited towards beginners.
Again, instead of finding demand for your products, it’s better to ride the existing demand of many everyday products that people are already buying.
Below is a better training that you can take if you’re just a newbie trying to find ways on how to make money online.
