Dropship Downunder Review 2021: Course by Klint & Parker Grant

Hey all, welcome to my Dropship Downunder review – another dropshipping course that is specifically targeting Australian dropshippers, or future dropshippers.

Now if you’re not Australians, this course might not make any sense to you to get it, simply because a lot of the housekeeping or techniques mentioned in the course will solely make sense for Australians.

And if you’re Australian, and you’re thinking of getting the course but not sure the legitimacy of the course and the founder, well you’ve come to the right place!

I’ll go through what you’re gonna get inside the course and give my fair judgement whether or not this course is actually worth its high price tag.

But before we get started, a little disclaimer – I’m by no means associated with Dropship Downunder in any way so I’m not going to profit anything should you decide to go ahead and join the program.

I’ve done dropshipping before and joined dropshipping courses so I thought I’d share some of the insights that I have when it comes to the business as well as what you need to look out for when buying these courses.

Well, without further ado, let’s get started with my full unbiased Dropship Downunder review.

Summary: Dropship Downunder dropshipping course was created by two brothers from Australia after venturing into the business themselves. However, instead of offering just another dropshipping course that can be learned from anyone in the world, they focus more on the offerings that are available in Australia – for future Australian dropshippers.

The course comes with a steep price tag, unlike many other dropshipping courses out there.

With a more focused target audience and a hefty price tag, will this course really deliver? Let’s figure it out together..

What Is Dropshipping?

Dropshipping is when you promote and sell a third-party product without handling the product creation, inventory and shipping.

When an order comes into your store, instead of wrapping and shipping out the products, the wholesaler or supplier will be the one that does the fulfilment.

Therefore, you only really need to focus on the front end and making sure sales are coming in for you to get your “cut”.

Important to note: Please don’t get misled with screenshots of sales that these “gurus” are making. Those are sales numbers. It’s typical for dropshipping businesses to only take home 1-20% from the sales.

What Is Dropship Downunder?

 As mentioned, Dropship Downunder is a dropshipping course curated to Australians, using local suppliers and building a legitimate business in Australia.

So yes, this course will not make much sense if you’re not downunder.

The course founders are brothers, Klint and Grant Parker. And before we dive deeper into the course, let’s take a look at these two brothers first.

Based on a few resources, people mention that they used to be students of Anton Kraly’s Dropship Lifestyle course – which I won’t exactly be surprised because Anton does teach and focus on sourcing local suppliers too.

Also, Dropship Lifestyle does retreats and so does Dropship Downunder too..

They were allegedly kicked out of Anton Kraly’s course because they came out with a similar course taking many of the info from Anton.

In my opinion, many of the dropshipping courses out there are just another ripoff from one another. So. It’s not exactly something to be surprised about.

That said, the Parker brothers are only focusing on Australia’s business dynamics while Anton’s course does not.

Similar to other dropshipping “gurus”, they do have their own YouTube channel with more than 6,000 subscribers and a few hundred followers on Instagram. If you do want to compare the numbers to other dropshipping channels, yes, their numbers are in the lower spectrum.

But does that mean their teachings aren’t as legit? I don’t think so.

But let’s dwell deeper now on what makes the course unique first.

What Makes Dropship Downunder Unique?

Again, the term “downunder” kinda gives it away..

This course is really specific to Australians, if you’re not Australian there are other dropshipping courses that you can review here.

Apart from only catering to the Australians, the course is also focusing on offering high-ticket items to get a higher profit margin, despite the lower number of sales. This focus is also very similar to the Dropship Lifestyle course as well.

And since you are sourcing local suppliers, you will be focusing on niches that make sense to Australians too, while still being a high-ticket item.

This can be a hit and miss in my humble opinion because yes, you will get a higher profit margin with the high-ticket items but that also means there’s a higher barrier to get new users. People will usually buy expensive products once they have some sort of relationship with a brand.

If you’re a new brand, this will take longer for you to convert comparing it to lower ticket item.

Just remember to bear this in mind before you get all excited with the high profit margin.

How Much Does Dropship Downunder Cost?

Dropship Downunder comes with a steep price tag at $2,997 one-time payment.

From the sales page, you won’t be getting other options with different payment plans but you can definitely have it made on installment on your credit card.

Apart from the course, you can also opt for Done-For-You service to get your store up and ready to run at another $2,997.

And if you do need another service outside of what you’ve agreed with them, you’ll be billed $147/hour.

Coaching sessions will also be charged per hour. You can read their full terms and conditions here.

That said, I do have to bring something up here so that you’ll be aware of this issue before getting the course.

There were a number of complaints from users who have purchase done-for-you services as well as coaching calls from Klint. It’s either they get really subpar products for their done-for-you store or not getting any response from Klint for the coaching calls that they have paid for.

With this, please be cautious before buying anything more from Klint and Grant Parker.

Worth mentioning here that they do have a 90 days money back guarantee with a condition that you’ve gone through and implemented everything in the course.

What’s In Dropship Downunder?

Module 1: Setting Up An Australian Business

As Grant said it, this is just a houskeeping module that you would want to go through before you start your dropshipping business.

More of the admin side of the business but it’s always good to know this firsthand.

Module 2: Australian Niche Selection

You can learn a few different ways to find a profitable niche from them.

There are a few lessons in this module where you’ll learn how to find high-ticket items as well as pricing them to the ideal target market.

It’s not just finding a niche, but you’ll learn how to “verify” the niche too.

Module 3: Australian Market Research

So you’ve chosen a niche. Now you need to figure out whether the niche is viable to the Australian market.

There are a few techniques that can help you really laser focus on your niche and your products. And to take this a step further, you’ll also learn how to find the suppliers.

At the end, the last lesson, you’ll find your “final” niche.

Module 4: Shopify Store Development

This is where you learn how to start your Shopify store from scratch to having your website ready to get traffic.

From getting a domain, installing theme, uploading your products, the whole process of getting your website up and running is pretty much well covered in this module.

Module 5: Onboarding Aussie Suppliers

There are 4 lessons in here where you’ll learn how to source suppliers the right way in Australia.

Grant mentioned that the dropshipping dynamics in Australia is pretty different than the ones done in the US. So they are only going to focus on how you can do so in Australia.

They also shared some templates that you can use to reach out to suppliers as well.

Module 6: Free Traffic/ Advertising

There are some neat tricks here, mostly suited for the Australian market.

Though I doubt they will give a lot of traffic in the beginning, I do think that long term when you do it right, it can bring consistent traffic to your store.

Some of the techniques would be through Facebook group, OzBargain, and forums.

Module 7: Facebook Ads

There are 19 lessons here so you’ll be able to learn how to get started Facebook Ads from scratch – building your fan page, business account as well as your ad account.

To me, the lessons are more theoretical based which is good for beginners but not that good for seasoned marketers.

I don’t see any real strategies behind the Facebook lessons to be honest – a lot of the lessons covered can be found for free on YouTube.

Also, there are 3 lessons on Facebook testing. Just know that this is the part where you’ll be spending most of your capital on 😊

Module 8: Google Ads

There are only 4 lessons in here so it’s by no means complete.

You can definitely find better, cheaper courses on Google Ads for eCommerce on Udemy – no shame, I also started learning digital marketing from there.

Module 9: Influencer & Other Paid Traffic

This module covers some of the other traffic sources that you can use such as Gumtree. But the videos are by no means in-depth.

And there are only 4 videos here with the first one being only as an “introduction”.

Module 10: Basic eCommerce Onsite SEO

Basic is the right word.

There’s only 1 15minutes video lesson here. So it won’t necessarily help you to rank – it just helps you to do the minimum work for your store’s SEO health.

I think for a $2,997 dropshipping course, they ought to give better lessons on SEO because longterm, you will want to build a more sustainable and organic traffic to your store instead of having to buy them every single time.

Module 11: Going Live With Your Store

It’s just 1 video lesson on how to do a proper site audit.

Module 12: Moving Forward & Extras

There are only 6 video lessons in here and each of them is only scratching the surface.

This includes email marketing – I’m not sure how email marketing not be a module on its own in 2021, but okay.

Authority blog – it’s good that they mentioned creating content marketing but it’s in no way in-depth. And with my #1 recommended training platform I learned how to make money just from creating content without having to handle the store.

You’ll also learn how to get started with outsourcing, getting your mindset straight, tools and resources that might help in your journey.

Is Dropship Downunder A Scam?

No, Dropship Downunder isn’t a scam.

If you pay for the course, you will get the access to the course where you can slowly learn how to get your Australian dropshipping business up and running.

And if you’ve gone through and implemented everything in the course but still haven’t seen any results, you can request a refund from them within 90 days.

The refund is only for the course.

If you do want to opt for their other services, please be mindful that those extra services come with no refund policy.

What I Like About Dropship Downunder

If you live in Australia, I’m sure you can learn a few things from this course.

Even though many dropshippers or the terms dropshipping will usually mean that you will need to source the products from another country, I personally like the fact that products can be shipped a lot faster when sourced locally.

My opinion.

Many don’t feel this way because you’ll lose a chunk of profit margin. To me, I look at it from a customer’s perspective. No one wants to wait 3 weeks to get their products.

Not anymore now that we’re in 2021.

What I DON’T Like About Dropship Downunder

1) Too Basic For The Price

For a course that’s priced at $2,997 I do think it’s just too basic.

Comparing it to Ecom Success Academy at $2,497, Dropship Downunder can’t even come close to the number of lessons and case studies you’ll be getting from Ecom Success Academy.

Dropship Downunder course also gives out more theoretical lessons compared to real proven case studies.

If you’ve read any of my reviews before, when it comes to Facebook Ads for example I’d so much prefer to learn with a proven results of case study that goes very in-depth.

Dropship Downunder doesn’t give that out.

2) Complaints on Done-For-You Services

Dropship Downunder isn’t the first dropshipping course that offers done-for-you services. Another dropshipping course that offers similar services would be Ecommerce Empire Builders.

That said, Ecommerce Empire Builders didn’t have any complaints in regard to their done-for-you services like Dropship Downunder.

And that just makes me wonder whether they are for the business to actually help people or only to squeeze in money from their students.

It’s also much easier to pick the services that you want with Ecommerce Empire Builders compared to Dropship Downunder whereby they only offer a lump sum payment for their done-for-you services that from what I’ve read is at extremely subpar quality.

Is Dropshipping Still Worth It?

1) Only When You Have Capital

Dropshipping is really NOT for someone who are strapped with money. There are so many other expenses that you will need to pay such as:

– Shopify
– Domain name
– Transaction Fee
– Facebook Ads
– Instagram Influencer
– Additional paid apps
– Outsourcing

So unless you have at least $5,000 to spare to start this business model, dropshipping unfortunately is not for you. You’ll be spending at least $2,000 to get started – and that won’t even guarantee any sales coming in.

2) Not The Best Business Model

As I’ve mentioned in 2021, dropshipping isn’t exactly the best business model out there. A lot of people already know the trick of “free product + shipping” and asking them to wait for 2-3 weeks for product delivery is a deal-breaker.

Put yourself in the customer shoe, will you go and buy a product from a store that will take 2-3 weeks to ship the products to you or you’d rather go to Amazon.com and get your products delivered the next day?

I’d go with Amazon.com. And that brings me to the next point.

A Better Way To Make Money

After I left dropshipping, I found a better way to make money online that is a lot more passive and won’t need me to fork out so much capital when first starting out.

I really wish I’d found this sooner.

I switched from doing a dropshipping business to affiliate marketing.

Simply because;

– it was free for me to get started
– I don’t need to be running ads all the time
– my traffic is organic, therefore a lot more sustainable
– I don’t need to handle refunds or customer service
– it’s much easier for me to do with a 9-5 job
